Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Welcome Message
From President
Pam Thorpe

I was so chuffed when I heard that Rotary International President Mark Maloney’s presidential theme for 2019-2020 is “Rotary connects the World”. There is no doubt “Rotary Connects the World”. Rotary is the original Social Network. Rotary connects members and Clubs and District for Service around the World. Rotary in developed countries connects with Rotary in developing countries to bring good outcomes. Batemans Bay Rotary has connected with the Rotary Club of Intramuros in the Philippines on many projects in past years and we are connecting now on the building of Toilet Blocks in remote villages. Our Sisters Helpem Sisters Sanitary Project connects us to the women of the Pacific Islands. Here in the Bay, our monthly markets connect with the community and visitors to the town. We connect with our future leaders, our Youth, in the many projects we run. We will connect with Moruya and Narooma Rotary to run the Christmas Races and this year proceeds will help fund a people mover to be shared by Yumaro and Meals on Wheels. For the second year, Batemans Bay Rotary will co-ordinate the Australia Day Breakfast Celebrations for the community and also next year our Club will be 60 years old so we will come together to celebrate in fellowship and fun. There is a quote from our founder Paul Harris – “The foundation upon which Rotary is built is friendship: on no less firm foundation could it have stood.” We welcome you to view our web page as a snap shot of what we do, how we have developed and what we have to offer. We invite you to join us on the journey of “Service above Self.” I would enjoy hosting you at one of our meetings on Thursday evening, introducing you to our programmes and to the wonderful and committed members of the Rotary Club of Batemans Bay.

Theme for 2018/2019

Rotary International President Mark Daniel Maloney’s theme for 2019-20, Rotary Connects the World, asks Rotarians to strengthen the many ways that Rotary Connects the World, building the connections that allow talented, thoughtful, and generous people to unite and take meaningful action through Rotary service.

What is Rotary?
Rotary is a worldwide organisation of ordinary people, business, professional and community leaders. Rotary Clubs are non political, no religious and open to all cultures, races and creeds. For over 110 years people around the world have been giving to humanity through Rotary.

Rotary projects are diverse and our efforts are focused on our local community as well as supporting larger regional and international needs.

The magic of Rotary is that it allows ordinary people to achieve the most extraordinary things. Through Rotary people unite to achieve exceptional change in people’s lives. Many members of Rotary have developed projects that have brought significant changes to local communities and the world.
